RBI Recruitment 2026: Important Update for PwBD Candidates

The Reserve Bank of India Services Board (RBISB) has published an important corrigendum regarding the recruitment of various posts in Non-CSG Cadres for the Panel Year 2026. This corrigendum is particularly for those candidates who are applying for the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) category.

If you are applying for the advertisement published on February 06, 2026, here is what you need to know about the new eligibility criteria for disability reservations.

What Has Changed?
The Bank has clarified the eligibility criteria for candidates holding temporary disability certificates based on the clarifications received from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Ineligible for Reservation: Disability conditions that come under the “likely to improve” category in the temporary disability category are no longer eligible for reservation.

Eligible for Reservation: Candidates who have disability conditions that come under the “progressive,” “non-progressive,” or “not likely to improve” category are still eligible.

Action Required for Candidates
Does your current disability certificate mention only the “temporary disability” category and nothing else? If so, and it does not mention whether the disability is “likely to improve” or “progressive/non-progressive,” then you need to take the following action:

Reassessment: You will have to go for a reassessment on the basis of the RPwD Amendment Rules 2024.

New Certificate: You will have to obtain a new disability certificate that clearly mentions the type of disability in the new categories (“not likely to improve,” for example).

Important Reminders
Permanent Certificates: Aspirants seeking reservation are required to submit a permanent disability certificate issued by a competent authority, which will be verified by the Bank.

Other Terms: All other terms and conditions as per the original advertisement (No. RBISB/DA/05/2025-26) remain the same.

Stay Updated: Any further updates or future corrigenda will be posted exclusively on the official RBI website at www.rbi.org.in.
